When Amanda called me for a repair and a small addition, I happily took on the challenge. She wanted to enjoy a more functional space by her driveway, and this shaded portion of her north-facing home was begging for some seating and personality. However, Amanda didn’t want to completely sacrifice flowers and other beautiful landscaping. How did we come up with a solution? Keep reading to learn how everything turned out amazing!
Our Plan
Between the garage entrance and the front door, an area remained blank and unusable, but I worked with Amanda to design this space. Together, we determined that two simple chairs and a small table could fit nicely, creating a welcoming, casual feeling for visitors and a chance for Amanda to have a cooler place to sit outside.
The Challenge
One of the difficulties of additions is making the new paving look as if it belongs or was originally installed on the property. In other words, we want our work to blend in! With this project, we nailed the paving bricks. The color and design of the addition matched so well that you can’t tell it’s much newer than the property around it. Plus, the style of the addition fell in with the rest of the home’s design, creating a fun, smart use of space while preserving some area for plants and landscaping.
The Satisfying Results
We did some minor repairs outside the scope of the project because that’s what was needed to give Amanda what she deserved. Simply put, it was the right thing to do! As a result, we left her front paving as good as brand new.
As you can see from the photo, Amanda got a modern, clean space to enjoy the front of her home and still had some room to put flowers, bushes, or any other landscaping she desires. She was so happy with the results that she went onto Google and left us a 5-star review!
